Traditional Hok San Lion Dance Training

Our troupe is proud to present a short film clip on our lion dance training which was done by our youth group members. The short film features our lion dance, termed Hok San (He Shan)- styled, and our percussion ensemble consisting of drum, cymbals and gong. We hope through this clip we will shed some light on the traditional style of lion dancing by the oldest lion dance troupe in Singapore, and also ignite interest amongst the public in this art. At our troupe, we have our dedicated instructors who ensure the right knowledge is passed on to our learning members through progressive training.

Lion Dancing is no easy feat, but the process of learning it and performing at the end of the day come as rewarding achievement for many of us. Moreover, to be able to be part of the group which promotes and passes on this traditional Chinese culture amidst team-bonding and exercising is an experience that is hard to come by.
