Guan Yin Festival 2010

Our Clan Association celebrated its annual Guan Yin Festival last month with a praying session, lion eye-dotting ceremony and auction dinner. Together with the Guan Yin Festival organising committee, our youth group assisted in the logistic matters, getting numerous items ready for the chanting session and the dinner. Not only that, we also participated in the simple yet formal eye-dotting ceremony of our new lion.

The day after, we helped shifted the auction items to the restaurant and assisted as backroom staff for the night's dinner, where the auction's proceeds go to the bursary awards to encourage our members' children for their excellence in academic studies. It was certainly an enriching experience for us youths as we come to appreciate and be part of the closely-knitted team which preserves traditional Chinese culture.
